The multinational company offered a sense of security, a well defined career path, a medical scheme, access to loan facilities e.t.c some of the few things most of us look for when applying for jobs straight from college. Well at the end of the day I settled for the start-up and looking back I feel I made the right choice. Why this particular start-up? One, we are in a niche business targeting a niche market, we have every opportunity to establish ourself. Two, I concur with your point on flexibility on one's role...I love the fact that I get to play different roles when required, I have gained lots of insight into every aspect of the business. We have a Flat structure... decisions are made on the fly, less red tape and every department head is accessible. And my favorite! The C.E.O knows both my names! in MNCs employees are mostly statistic in the company books! We are yet to break-even, but its a risk am willing to take....the future looks damn promising!
